Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Umbria, Italy
Hand-picked, Single Estate, cold-pressed olive oil with exceptionally low free acidity.
Olio di Piatello is made from olives grown on the slopes of an ancient Umbrian hillside. Olives are handpicked, single estate and cold pressed. The olives are picked early in the season to gain the maximum benefit from the polyphenol levels. Most years it has a free acidity level of less than 0.1%. Oil produced in this way is rich in health giving properties and is utterly delicious.

What do we do?
How our Olives are harvested
Olive Picking can take place anytime between the beginning of October and the end of November. Every year the harvest time varies. The amount of olives varies hugely depending on the weather . Some years there is heavy rain that stops cross pollination, hail in May which damages the blossoms, drought in Summer.
Once the olives are ready to be picked we pick every day (unless there is rain) until we have 17 full crates, the minimum amount required for a single estate press.
The oil is put into tins which I bring to the UK . I bottle and package the oil fresshly in order to preserve the high quality for as long as possible.
Olive oil should be kept out of direct sunlight.
